With the release of watchOS 9, Apple has made several important changes available in the native fitness ( Workout ) app on the Apple Watch.

Among them are the so-called Heartbeat Zones . They are nothing more than a percentage of your maximum heart rate, which is automatically calculated and customized according to your health data.

In the case of the Apple Watch, these zones are presented in five segments. As this happens automatically, you don’t need to do anything to use them. However, Apple provides an option to manually change these zones.

How to change heart rate zones on Apple Watch
