It may seem like a lie, but in WatchOS 8 and earlier, Apple Watch owners couldn’t create calendar events on their Apple Watches directly from the watch — other than by using Siri, Apple’s personal assistant.

But with the latest WatchOS 9, Apple has made this process easier. Thus, it is even possible to use the QWERTY keyboard on Apple Watches Series 7, Series 8 or Ultra, which is now available in Brazilian Portuguese.

How to create Calender events on Apple Watch

  1. Open the Calendar app.
  2. Tap the three dots button (in the lower right corner, which appears while you are in the “Up Next”, “Day” or “List” views).
  3. Then tap on “New Event.”
  4. Fill in the fields shown on the screen—”Title,” “Location,” whether the event will occupy the entire day or not, the start and end dates and times, whether you need to receive repeated alerts, among other options.
