One of the easiest ways to determine how many megapixels your phone camera has is by going through the smartphone brand website. For the purpose of this guide, I will be using the Redmi 10A. To know the actual megapixels of this smartphone through the internet, all I need to do is to

  • Go to the Xiaomi official website or the website of the phone brand you are using.

Through Calculation

Do you like math? You can determine how many megapixels your phone camera has by using the image size. When you enter your phone’s gallery, you can see the meta data of the photo, especially its size. Then just make a simple calculation to know the actual camera megapixels.

Here is what to do:

  • Go to your Photo Gallery app.
  • Look for a picture that you snapped with your phone, and then multiply the file size to get the megapixels of the camera. In my own case, mine is 3120 x 4160 pixels. When you calculate the two values, the result is 12,979,200. But the pixels are always approximated, so the lens used is 13MP.

Pretty easy, right?
