If you have the message open inside the Mail app and accidentally clicked the send button, select “Undo Send” in the lower left corner of the Mail window.

With this, the email window itself will be opened again, in case you want to make any changes or even give up sending it.

How to change the time to undo sending an email

By default, you can undo sending an email for 10 seconds. However, Apple allows you to change this to one of the following options: “Off”, “20 seconds” or “30 seconds”.

To do this, open Mail and from the menu bar go to Mail » Settings… (or use the shortcut ⌘ command plus ,). Then select the “Writing” tab and use the drop-down menu next to “Time to Undo Submission” to make your choice.
